Long Island Designer Annette Jaffe was walking her dog during the COVID-19 pandemic (as so many people were) and started thinking about all the people in their houses who now had to work or study from home and how their homes needed to function differently than they did prior to the outbreak. She thought if she could offer an interior design consultation for a donation to a charity helping the frontline, maybe she could help. Then she started to think what if every interior designer did the same. She reached out to a friend she had done volunteer work with two decades earlier, Kim Poulos of KGI Design Group, who immediately joined the cause. Keith Baltimore, of The Baltimore Design Center, became the third key team member and the three of them got to work. Working all hours, calling on friends, family, professional associations and their communities, the idea took shape. Designers and sponsors were signing on and within a few days, DesignGivers, Ltd. became a reality.
