Barbara Lewis, principal and owner of The Lewis Design Group has more than 25 years of interior design experience. With a lifelong passion for design that dates back to her childhood (she is the daughter of a master furniture craftsman) and an eduction from The New York School of Interior Design, Barbara continues to find inspiration from art, architecture and her travels throughout Europe. Her deep understanding and appreciation for fine interiors is reflected in The Lewis Design Group projects, which maintain the delicate balance between current trends and timeless style. A respected leader amongst her peers, Barbara Lewis regularly speaks on design and was recently featured on NBC Connecticut and at NY NOW. Although Barbara Lewis has been an interior designer for decades, in recent years she has reached new heights in her career with features in Hamptons Cottages & Gardens, New England Home Connecticut, Connecticut Cottages & Gardens, Newsday and Fairfield County Look, as well as profiles by blogs and influencers. In 2019 The Lewis Design Group earned acclaim for its feminine and relaxing design of “Her Sanctuary” for Holiday House Hamptons. The response to this design resulted in The Lewis Design Group being asked to participate in Rooms with a View this fall 2019, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary by inviting a prestigious group of designers to participate. In addition, Barbara Lewis is a sought-after tabletop designer for prestigious events, including the American Red Cross Metronorth Chapter Red & White Ball.
The Lewis Design Group offers a boutique, full-service client approach. In close collaboration with the client, Barbara Lewis is able to define the style of her client’s vision, whether it be classical, transitional, or contemporary. With a warm and caring personality, Barbara Lewis understands that the design process should be enjoyable and inspiring. The Lewis Design Group has designed private residences from Manhattan to Laguna Beach and has design studios in Stamford, Connecticut and Glen Cove, New York.
